PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Successful candidate will be a self driven individual with a passion for excellence in safety, manufacturing, and customer focus. Specific area of responsibility will be in the converting department. Primary responsibilities will focus around safety, production, housekeeping, quality, and waste for his or her shift. Some additional areas of responsibility will be to:

Ensure that minimum quality expectations are followed and met on daily basis

Ensure best practices are being followed for minimization of waste at machine center

Track continuous improvement opportunities where performance issues are apparent and provide leadership/action plans for gap closure

Ensure strict adherence to plant safety, housekeeping and 6S efforts

Identify repairs needed at machine centers and create work requests for completion; follow-up as required

Plan, assign and direct work for all hourly production employee

Appraise performance and provide feedback as needed

Assist in resolving complaints and issues

Hold employees accountable as needed

Communicate issues and results on daily basis

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma

4 year college degree preferred with emphasis in Business/Management

Available to work shift work and overtime as needed

Minimum of 5 years corrugated packaging manufacturing experience

Minimum of 3 years direct converting supervision experience

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES:

Strong problem solving/root cause analysis skills

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; able to motivate teams to exceed expectations

Strong communication, planning and organization skills

Strong sense of urgency

Strong customer focus

Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environment

Strong sense of accountability

Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel) and KIWI (preferred)

Ability to immediately step into leadership role and perform at exceptional level

Desire to advance in responsibility in manufacturing arena
