Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities:

This position will work with the Mechanical Leader to develop strategies with other department leaders, providing direction and guiding the mill?s mechanical maintenance for the mill.

-Provides leadership and direction to the mechanical maintenance department responsible for the mill-wide repair and preventive maintenance of machines and equipment in the manufacturing operations.

-Provides direction and coaching of supervisors, planner, and scheduler in their roles, responsibilities and expectations to meet plant objectives in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.

-Eliminates causes of failure and ensures the full use of equipment/mechanical service life.

-Works with maintenance planners and materials coordinators to ensure daily mechanical work orders are handled effectively and efficiently

-Provides leadership in growing the preventive and predictive maintenance processes.

-Participates in processes to ensure that appropriate parts inventory levels for standard replacement parts are maintained. -Continuously applies sound mechanical solutions to resolve reliability issues which negatively impact plant efficiencies [driving continuous improvement].

-Provides technical support for efficient troubleshooting and or problem solving activities related to mechanical equipment repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.

-Ensures that mechanical maintenance resources are involved in follow-up analysis to identify and resolve recurring downtime and or inefficient operational issues.

-Ensures mandatory inspections, certifications and appropriate laws and regulations are adhered to.

-Ensures environmental compliance.

-Effectively communicates results and action plans to appropriate employees and managers.

-Collaborates directly with human resources to ensure employee issues or concerns are correctly addressed and resolved.

-Participates with other mill leaders to create spending goals and execute maintenance activities that support financial allocations and obligations.

-Consistently contributes to the efforts of the Big Island mill employees to safely improve mechanical reliability by applying reliability principles such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to identify the appropriate predicative and Preventative maintenance procedures.

Preferred Education:

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering degree preferred), Industrial Engineer, Industrial Management, and Manufacturing, Production Operations Management or equivalent field of study highly desirable.

Basic Qualifications:

- Requires a minimum of 3 years of engineering or maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

- Requires a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

- Basic mathematical, statistical and financial skills required.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities:

-Demonstrate the attributes of Principled Entrepreneurship with a strong Customer Focus and a commitment to compliance. -Strong understanding of mechanical maintenance practices and vision of how to change the culture from reactive to proactive while improving the knowledge and skills of the maintenance workforce.

-Interpersonal skills (Integrity, Humility, and Honesty) to challenge and be challenged in a respectful manner that leads to value creation and strong teamwork.

-Strong demonstration of focus on reliability and delivering results.

-3 or more years of work experience in a maintenance/ mechanical area preferred.

-2 or more years of Supervisory or Management experience preferred. -Experience in a union environment preferred.
