SR ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER

Responsibilities:

The Senior Environmental Engineer will manage activities of the environmental group for the Mill in providing:

  • day-to-day environmental support to operations
  • preparing permit applications
  • maintaining required plans
  • training personnel
  • maintaining the Environmental Management System
  • implementing company's environmental standards
  • and, participating in environmental audits/assessments.
This position will report to the Environmental Leader.

Basic Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Life Science or Physical Science required.

Minimum of 7 years experience in Environmental Engineering in an integrated pulp and paper complex

Working knowledge of environmental regulations - emphasis on air; environmental management systems; communication skills; time management ability; able to report information accurately; computer proficiency (working knowledge of Excel).

Knowledge - Skills - Ability:

Attention is required for managing day-to-day environmental compliance with all operating permits and regulations.

Evaluation, interpretation, and compliance with environmental laws, regulations and permits as it relates to the operation of the facility.

Work directly with the Environmental Leader to assure an effective environmental program. Represent the facility during agency inspections. Ability to develop effective action plans and drive continuous improvement in the facility's environmental systems.
