We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our maintenance team at our plant in Dallas, Texas (located south of downtown).
The Mechanical Supervisor directs the mechanical maintenance department comprised of day shift and rotating shift employees and external contractors. This position works closely with the Maintenance and Production Teams to ensure production reliability and reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Major Responsibilities include:
¨ Schedule and prioritize Mechanical jobs with Production Managers
¨ Direct and supervise Mechanics in the performance of approved maintenance work
¨ Ensure quality and efficiency of work performed, and assure performed work meets quality specifications
¨ Coordinate work assignments for external Contractors and Outside Services
¨ Oversee shift transitions, mechanical breakdowns, and scheduled/unscheduled shutdowns
¨ Establish and Supervise Predictive / Preventative Program
¨ Maintain Computerized Maintenance Management Software
¨ Oversee modification, re-design and installation of equipment upgrades in line with reliability based maintenance system
¨ Assist with establishing and monitoring mechanical budgets and controlling Spares inventory
¨ Conduct performance appraisals and provides skill based pay recommendations.
Maintain accurate payroll and timekeeping records, authorizes time-off, and ensure attendance point system is applied uniformly. Promptly and fairly resolves grievance issues. Takes disciplinary action when appropriate.
¨ Maintain positive relationships with Maintenance Team, Labor Union, Production Management, and Vendors.
¨ Establish both Team and Individual goals and measures progress towards those goals
¨ Ensure safety initiatives are followed and comply with all aspects of Environmental and general Housekeeping rules.
This position requires related Manufacturing Management Experience. Bachelors degree and experience working in a Union environment preferred.
Qualified candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of Reliability based maintenance and Work Order based maintenance systems, knowledge of Basic Hydraulic systems and Basic Welding practices, strong planning and organizational skills, be able to understand and interpret mechanical drawings, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
