The Orange facility is a world class manufacturing facility providing chemical intermediates for the manufacture of Nylon-6,6. The Nylon Intermediates facilities consist of adiponitrile, adipic acid, and hexamethylenediamine products.
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in maintenance or reliability to work as part of a team providing rotating machinery, pressure vessel, piping, specialty equipment support and technical assistance at the Orange INVISTA site in Orange, TX.
The Mechanical Engineering position is responsible for troubleshooting, working with maintenance technicians, process operators to trouble equipment, perform RCAs and develop preventative and predictive programs which improve equipment reliability of various fixed and rotating/reciprocating equipment on the site. The primary focus of this role will be to provide mechanical engineering support to site’s equipment reliability effort and mechanical engineering for project design in support of both small and medium projects.
Improve Equipment Reliability (IER) – Team player within site reliability organization that focuses on improving versus just repairing. An entrepreneurial thinker that considers return on investment within the decision making process. Constantly seeks to improve technical skills and knowledge by demonstrating proactive habits that prevents equipment failures through technical guidance to site reliability and maintenance teams on improving equipment reliability. Sets high standards and embraces goals and objectives that are in alignment with reliability organization.
Routine Maintenance (RM) – Coach and technical liaison for site maintenance organization by providing assistance in troubleshooting equipment and identifies deficiencies in equipment from operation and original design. Develops solutions and drives to completion for the long term elimination of deficiencies or develops alternatives for replacement or upgrades that are supported by improved equipment performance and overall equipment reliability. Works with maintenance towards improving existing asset PM and PdM programs as well as developing guidance in procedures or training to mechanics to support improvement activities.
Small Projects (SP) – Provides mechanical engineering design as part of the Small Project work process and at times fills the role of the Small Project Manager which involves developing scope, cost estimates, execution plans and timelines as well as incorporating entrepreneurial thinking that defines the benefits and ROI to improve asset reliability. Identifies and prioritizes opportunities that eliminates unreliable assets and executes solutions through Small Project implementation that supports the business goals and objectives.

Strong interpersonal skills coupled with excellent verbal and written skills. Results oriented and demonstrated ability to work effectively with all personnel regardless of function or level.
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field (Chemical, Mining, Industrial, or Mechanical).
• At least of 3 years of engineering in equipment maintenance or manufacturing facility.
Ability to travel up to 10%
• At least 5 years of plant experience in mechanical engineering field, in a petrochemicals or related operation.
Must be authorized to work in the United States of America without company sponsorship now and in the future.
