Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations:

Mechanical Engineer - Thermal Oxidizers/Flare Systems Group -
Assistance, and support of the Mechanical Engineering  Group to include Mechanical Engineering of the TO and Flare Systems Division.  Provide guidance and support to the Systems Group for any mechanical application.  Operate as a Staff engineer for the Systems Group with the expectation of documenting, distributing, and training as necessary any event requiring mechanical engineering. Be available as a resource for any warranty or field problem to insure the level of response is adequate for any circumstance that might occur.  Delegate as necessary to insure the customer perceives John Zink Company as responsive and timely.

During the Proposal/Sales phase of the project, the Mechanical Engineer will participate in specifying mechanical equipment.  Examples of Mechanical Equipment are Blowers, Pumps, Heat Transfer Equipment,  Retractable systems (Pilots, Aircraft Warning Lights), Expansion Joints, etc.

     * Review customer requirements
     * Assist Application Engineers to obtain quotes for equipment, and evaluate quotes with recommendations.
     * Create Data Sheets with Process Engineering to reflect our design and customer specification.
     * Locate sources for purchasing mechanical equipment with input from John Zink Purchasing.

Order Execution
During the execution phase of major projects, the mechanical Engineer will be the Owner in specifying mechanical equipment.

     * Become the owner of major mechanical equipment
     * Become the owner of the customer specifications.
     * Create and own purchasing specifications.
     * Create Data Sheets with Process Engineering to reflect our design and  customer specification.
     * Work with Purchasing to obtain Bids
     * Review Technical Bids, and create a Bid Tabulation for evaluation.
     * Review Vendor drawings.
     * Work with Process and Controls to complete and own the P&ID.
     * Develop a high level of proficiency in all Systems products in an effort to maximize productivity.


Work Experience Required:

Minimum of five (5) years' experience in Mechanical engineering or Project management


Work Experience Preferred:

Minimum of ten (10) years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer

Education/Certification Required:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering


Education/Certification Preferred:

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

Physical Demands/Unusual Working Conditions:

General office conditions

Occasional trips to manufacturing plant; required PPE must be worn at these times
